Policies and General Information

OPENING DATE:
Entries will be accepted for all tournaments starting in March.
Entries may be submitted by U.S. Mail, fax, or in person.
DEADLINE DATE:
The deadline to enter will be 14 days prior to the first day of the tournament, or when the tournament is full, whichever comes first. We must have your entry in our office by this time. In previous years most tournaments have filled, so please have your entry in on time.
Late entries will be accepted if the tournament is not full, or will be put on a waiting list if the tournament is full. To be accepted, all late entries will be subject to a $10 additional fee. Late entry payment must be with credit card, cashier's check, or cash only. No personal checks will be accepted with a late entry.
PAYMENT:
All entry fees may be paid by MasterCard, Visa, American Express,
Discover, cash, check, cashier's check, or money order. Credit Cards
are the preferred method of payment. All Credit Card receipts will
be sent with the pairing sheet.
All returned checks will be turned over to a collection agency and you will be charged a $25 handling charge plus collection costs.
Entries may be FAXED with a credit card payment. You may pay for all entries at one time if you are entering more than one tournament.
PRIZE FUND:
All gift card prizes are redeemable at American Golf pro shops.
No duplicate gift cards will be issued if original is lost by recipient.
CART POLICY:
This applies to all tournaments, except the Crosby Memorial Junior Golf Championship (carts not permitted).
Cart Fee: $29.00 per cart
Cost per person (2 people in cart): $ 14.50 per rider
Maximum 2 carts per group.
Maximum of 2 people and 2 sets of clubs per cart.
Spectator carts will not be allowed during tournaments.
Any special spectator carts requested because of physical handicaps
will be allowed only with the specific approval of the Tournament
Director.
CADDY POLICY:
No caddies allowed in Junior Golf Tournament.
Caddies are allowed in all other tournaments and flights with the following restrictions:
1. Caddies may ride in one of the two carts in lieu of the player they are caddying for, but may not take the place of another player (2 cart maximum).
2. Caddies must not hold up play or challenge Rules
Committee or Tournament Officials' directions.
3. Caddies may not give a "playing lesson"
during the tournament or hold up play in any manner. Caddies may
be asked to leave by the Rules Committee or Tournament Director
if a delay occurs due to their actions.
WITHDRAWAL/REFUND POLICY:
If you withdraw 2 weeks prior to an event, you will receive a refund,
minus a $10 service charge. If you withdraw less than 2 weeks before
an event, you will receive a refund only if you are replaced, minus
a $25 service charge. If you withdraw within 24 hours of the first
round, do not show up for your tee time, are disqualified, or withdraw
the day of the tournament, you will not receive a refund.
Players may petition for a full refund, minus a $25 service charge,
in case of sickness, injury, or family emergency. No refunds will
be granted for injury or illness sustained at the course during
the days of the tournament.
DRESS CODE:
Proper golf attire is required--no short-shorts, tank tops, halter-tops, tee shirts or jeans.
SPECTATORS:
Spectators are permitted at all Long Beach Golf Festival events. Spectators must not interfere with play or cause slow play in the group they are following or any other group on the course. In junior events, spectators may not talk with players or interfere with their play.
CONDUCT:
Unsportsmanlike conduct (i.e. swearing or club throwing) will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification from the tournament and/or future tournaments.
Cellular phones or pagers must be turned off during any Festival event.
ELIGIBILITY:
If you have played on any tour as a "non-amateur/professional
handicap golfer for cash", you are NOT eligible to play as
an amateur in any Festival event.
All males must male at birth and all females must be female at birth.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to deny entry to those
whom it feels do not meet the criteria as set down within these
policies.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
Practice rounds are NOT included in your tournament fee.
If you do not have a Long Beach Reservation Card, you may call the
course directly to make a reservation.
ESTABLISHED HANDICAPS:
Most tournaments require a valid one-year 18-hole USGA/SCGA/ PUBLINX
etc. handicap. If you do not have a handicap, but can play par golf,
you may be considered to enter the Match Play, Championship Flights
of the Men's/Women's City, or the "gross" flights of the
Men's Senior. Acceptance is based upon approval by the Tournament
Director.
For handicap events participants must have a one-year established handicap. Participants will play to their lowest index for the previous 12 month period. Golfers wishing to participate with an established index of less than 1 year may enter only with permission from the Tournament Director.
If you have a handicap from outside Southern California, please
send a copy of your handicap sheet with your entry and the website
where we may update your handicap before the tournament.
Misrepresentation of ability level could result in disqualification, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee, with no refund.
PAIRINGS:
The pairings will be prepared and mailed approximately one week before the first day of the tournament. They will also be posted on our website on the day of mailing. If you do not receive your tee times by then, please contact the tournament office as soon as possible.
TOURNAMENT FORMATS AND TEE TIMES:
At the discretion of the Tournament Director, all Tournament Formats and Tee Times are subject to change from what is printed in this booklet, dependent upon amount of entries, availability of courses, weather, and any other unforeseen circumstances. In the event of any changes, you will be notified as soon as practically possible.
